MERZ Collage Seminar & Workshop 25th January 2020

North American artist Ric Kasini Kadour is co-founder of Kolaj Magazine, and a former gallerist. Ric is our artist in residence at MERZ from 7th January till 21st February. Rhed Fawell is an Edinburgh based artist, an avid Instagram networker who runs the Edinburgh Collage Collective. Rhed will run a practical workshop on collage for artist books. The MERZ Collage Seminar & Workshop is an informal get-together and for the most part will engage as talking-while-making for up to fifteen artists/curators/writers. Ric will introduce collage in contemporary art and his preparations for an exhibition of ‘posted’ collages – Schwitters’ Army – for display at MERZ in February. Ric invites participants to contribute to the exhibition via http://rickasinikadour.com/main/art/schwitters-army with a closing date of 31st January.

The MERZ Collage Seminar & Workshop will take place at the nearby Museum of Model Art alongside an exhibition by Amy Marletta and Denise Zygadlo, two artists from Dumfries & Galloway. Denise and Amy have also worked on the Hannah Höch art-house which stands on the sculpture green behind the Museum.

If you would like to attend the Collage Seminar & Workshop on the 25th January, please contact Jess Sharpe at hello@merz.gallery and book a place. Places are limited but when booked we will invite you to bring along specific collage materials to work alongside Rhed on the day.
